Cupcake Wrappers - for free.....

Ok, so I started following a new blog this week, and they have some clever ideas, including an Easter Egg hunt where you fill the pieces with puzzle pieces and then put the puzzle together with your kids, how clever:)  Anyway, on there today she has designed a template for cupcake holders, you just have to print them out and glue them together, you could use them for jelly bean holders or other things, check it our on Shabby Blogs Blog

Free Download?

Want a free music download?  Got a flyer from our beloved insurance agent (Matt Potts) advertising financial services, but it had a website to visit to take a survey and have a chance to win concert tickets, and let's face it, we all know how much I love FREE stuff!  Long story short at the end of the survey it gives you a code for a free music download.  You can enter for the concert tickets once a day until September I believe.  Check it out: Trips and Picks

Swim Lessons (take 207)

Just kidding, but this isn't Killian's first round of swimming lessons.  Great news, he LOVES the water, bad news, he is absolutely fearless where water is concerned.
This session is through the ISU Swimming & Diving Team, a fundraiser of sorts for them, so it is at Horton.  He will take lessons every Sunday evening.  Really great to get him back into the swing of things before swim season really hits us, because this year I am going to have my hands full with Cohen so crazy.
So highlight for me; listening to him complain how they make him do stuff that is tooooo easy for his level, "kabobs," known to the rest of the world as "bobs."  When I tried to correct him he told me that Bob was a name, not a swimming "extrasize." Also a strange thing for me being at that pool as the mom, and not at a practice or swim meet.
Highlight for Killian, "Mom, did you see my favorite part?  It was hilarious, I pretended and made my teacher think I was drowning."  (Sweet, just what every mom wants to hear!)

Office Worker - Mr. Killian

I don't think I blogged about this, but we all know Killian is quite the character, he makes us smile EVERY day!  So here is a picture of his "person" on the wall at preschool.  They did a unit on occupations, and my lovely was the ONLY one who wanted to be an "office worker," because if you are an office worker you can 1) wear a tie all the time and 2) play on a computer ALL DAY long!!!!!

Paperwork Complete

Yesterday the mean mommy that I am sent Cohen off to daycare and did some work in the house, I also took Killian to Dr. Hall for a cleaning and check up.  Although this is not his first trip to the dentist somewhere along the way I forgot to have the form completed for kindergarten, so now the form is done and in my possession to send over to cover, so finally, paperwork for kindergarten COMPLETE!

5 Months... keep the countdown going....

5 Months from today until this cute couple ties the knot!!!  We went and bought our bridesmaids dresses yesterday, and all the plans are really beginning to come together, now I just need to lose at least 10 more pounds!!!  If you need to kill a few minutes you can check out their website; Melville Wedding 2010

Hart Party:)

The Hart family is celebrating Annalea's birthday this week, and Annalea's 500th blog post on Our Hartbeat.  She is even giving little virtual goodie bags via the Internet, so be sure to check it out.  For my mommy friends she is fearless and inspirational in her parenting and home-making styles, she also introduced me to Freecycle!  And since stay-at-home mommies need extra connection to the world, if you have a minute check out her blog, you will want to live in her house and kiss her adorable babies:)

Feeling Better :)

At this point you would have never known that Cohen had the dreaded "pink eye."  His eyes are back to normal thanks to Daddy's awesome eye drop techniques and some TLC from the Mama, Daddy and NyNy.

Handsome...

Can I just say that I love, love, love this boy?
He is so handsome and so full of life.

This weekend Killian sang for the Saturday service at Christ Lutheran Church, where he attends preschool through Shining Lights.  They sang during worship (4 songs) and then joined their families for the rest of the service.  Following the service there was a meal in the fellowship hall for preschoolers and their families.  Special shout out to Jeremy for coming to watch!

Killian meets Dr. Tallis

A couple year's ago I asked my optometrist when Killian needed to come in for a check-up.  He said sometime before kindergarten but with Chad and my eyesight it wasn't a matter of if he would need glasses, it was when.  So, last week we made it in for Killian to see Dr. Tallis.  He was very excited to go to a "big person" doctor, since Nyny, Papa, Mommy and Daddy ALL go to him.  He did great with his numbers and letters and loved the experience.  He has  wanted to go back everyday since then.  Results were he has astigmatism in his left eye and is near-sighted in both eyes, luckily he thinks we can hold off a little longer on glasses.

Dear Wii Fit....

Today I love you, no really I do.  Due to the crappy rain (boo rain) I need to come up with another plan for exercise, since I will be honest, I am quite the fair weather runner!!!  I don't like it to begin with so running in the rain today did not sound the least bit appealing.
So... plan B became use the Wii Fit, we haven't used it nearly enough lately, especially for "real" exercise versus the games that it allows you to do.  So I hoped on and was pleasantly surprised.  First let me say if you haven't ever used the Wii Fit it has quite the personality.  Since I hadn't used it in quite awhile it pretended to not "recognize" me and call me a different name and let me know it thought I had forgot about it.  Anyway, once it "remembered" me I started my body test (where they do a balance test, weigh and give you your BMI.)  Here is the pleasant surprise; since my last time using Wii Fit I lost nearly 25 lbs.  WOW!!!!  It praised me and told me to keep up the good work, that is really what I needed today.  So Wii Fit, thank you, I will now not sell you or throw you out;)

Great Giveaway!!!

Wow, what did I do before internet and being so connected with the world...  One of my favorite savvy mommies had a link posted to ask her any questions we want, so since she is SOOO savvy and wins all sorts of prizes and has such thrifty ideas she has been my little role model lately.  Tonight on her facebook I saw a link for a giveaway online for custom jewelry, check it out, you're gonna love the stuff from Lisa Leonard Designs. Cohen's Daily Activities

One of the reasons I like Miss Jessica and Katie's Kids is that they post pictures online for us to view Cohen in his day-to-day activities.  He LOVES going there and the routine of the day, and of course his friends and teachers.
He behaves better for them than at home and they fun activites, they don't even seem to mind his draw towards trouble. (Check out the picture!)

Motivation....

My motivation this week is waning, despite the clock still counting down until December's wedding (see side panel for exact countdown!)  Last night at church Chad pointed out to me that although the portion sizes are conservative on our Wednesday night dinners and yes, i was a good girl who finished my food, it is probably not the best idea to move on to Killian's leftover cherry cobbler and scarf it down.  (FYI, this is not the first eating/control conversation at church, a few weeks ago Killian asked me why I ate so much, really?)
So, anyone have any thoughts???  I am currently down 17 lbs. but last week hit a plateau, with no weightloss....
